John Schrote, EA John has been consulting with small businesses for over twenty years. Prior to entering Public Accounting, he was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for an SEC warehousing and distribution company for seven years. This practical knowledge of the day to day operations and concerns of small business helps John to relate to the “real world” experiences of the business owner.

In addition to business consultation and advice, John’s expertise is in the area of individual taxes, tax planning, and audit representation. He is an Enrolled Agent (EA), and as such, has represented numerous taxpayers in matters dealing with both IRS and the State of Colorado.

Helping business owners understand their financial statements and how to use this information to more effectively and profitably operate their business is John’s main area of focus. Together with the other members of the firm, we strive to go “beyond numbers” and relate to the needs and concerns of our clients.

John is a graduate of the University of Florida and has been a Colorado resident for fifteen years.

Briana Reidle, CPA Briana Reidle graduated from Regis University in 1996 and obtained her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License a few years after that. While completing her accounting degree, she completed 2 internships in accounting. One was with the accounting department of Denver oil and gas company and the second was with a public accounting firm. After graduating from college, she went to work with the public accounting firm that she interned with. During this time, she worked with several clients doing the monthly bookkeeping for them. As the years have gone by, she has moved into working more for clients on a consulting basis, helping them as part of their business management team, setting up accounting systems, preparing business tax returns and the personal tax returns for the business owners.

Briana is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado.

She has worked for the same accounting and tax firm for 10 years and in October 2007, she acquired the accounting and tax clients of her former employer and opened Accounting & Tax Solutions Inc. where she is part owner.

The main goal for her clients is to be there for them in all aspect of their business. She prides herself on personal service and to help her clients be the best they can be!

On a personal note, she is married and has a beautiful daughter born in 2005 and a handsome son born in 2008. She is a native to Colorado and resides in Thornton, Colorado. She enjoys spending time with her family and philanthropic work. She loves to organize teams to participate in charity events such as The Race for the Cure, Light the Night, and Diabetes. During 2007, she has found a new love for the multi-sport lifestyle and completed 2 triathlons with the goal of completing many more in years to come!

Lowell D. Janssen, CPA Lowell is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with more than 12 years experience in accounting and tax preparation. He has had many work experiences in his lifetime which helped to make him a well rounded person, able to see business from many different perspectives. Jobs in education, sales, computer programming, auditing and several different accounting and tax positions have contributed to that end. He has owned his own accounting and tax practice and has worked for both public and private sector industries. Passing the CPA exam in 1996, while working for a CPA firm, was a major accomplishment at that stage of his life, he also is licensed to provide various investment services.

Lowell holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Regis University and a Masters Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University. He is a member of the Colorado Society of CPA’s.

Volunteer organizations include his church, the Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT), and the Aurora Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.

Lowell is married to Ginett. They have 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren. He was raised in Nebraska but has lived in Colorado since 1974.

Judy Pankonin, Accountant Judy has been in accounting, bookkeeping and office administration for over 35 years. She is a graduate of Regis University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and has extensive experience in computerized bookkeeping, preparation of corporate income tax returns, state and local payroll taxes, and sales taxes.

Judy feels it is very important that her clients understand the basic financial principles involved and how they integrate to provide an accurate financial statement. She welcomes the opportunity to respond to questions as they arise and to help provide solutions to everyday bookkeeping problems. It is her goal to help clients be more comfortable with their accounting and, therefore, more confident with their business decisions.

Judy is a native of Iowa but has been in Colorado for almost 40 years. She and her husband, Jim, have lived in Lakewood for 10 years. Her interests include traveling, hiking, swimming, and more recently competing in an occasional triathlon. Much of her spare time is spent on her favorite activities involving her children and grandchildren.

Lois Hogan, Accountant Lois Hogan joined our staff as an accountant in June of 2008. Having spent the last three years in retail management and operations for a large Fortune 500 coffee company, Lois missed the environment of working with small business entrepreneurs. Her background prior to "coffee" included cost, payroll, and financial accounting, as well as over ten years experience consulting with small businesses regarding their accounting needs.

Lois understands how important accurate financial data and cash flow analysis is to the day to day management decisions facing small businesses. She is committed to helping her clients understand the details of their financial statements and general ledger, as well as assisting them with their day to day bookkeeping needs. Partnering with her clients for their business success is her top priority.

Lois holds an MBA from the University of Santa Clara with an emphasis in finance and accounting. She earned her BA from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Recently, she completed her certification as a QuickBooks Professional Advisor. Lois has lived in Colorado with her family for the last thirteen years. She loves to take advantage of all the outdoor benefits that Colorado has to offer, including skiing, running, and camping. Her favorite indoor activity is "coffee and conversation" at the local coffee house.
